Virginia A. “Ginny” Leary-Callahan (Butler) of East Falmouth, formerly of Canton and Sharon, passed away December 1 surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Sharon, she graduated from Sharon High School and Newton Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for over 20 years as the director of Stoughton Public Health VNA before retiring. She lived in Falmouth for 30 years and previously lived in Canton for 25 years. Ginny was a member of the Falmouth Garden Club, Falmouth New Comers Club, and the Canton Catholic Nurses Club at St. John the Evangelist Church.

Beloved wife of the late Paul J. Callahan and David P. Leary. Mother of James A. Leary of Lake Worth Beach, FL and Falmouth and Jennifer J. Costello and her husband, Stephen, of North Attleboro. Sister of Lorraine Fox of Falmouth and the late Edward, John and Richard Butler. Grandmother of Megan Behrer, Laura Leary, Monica Kummer, and Bridget and Owen Costello. Also survived by five great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass was held Tuesday in St. Oscar Romero Parish (formerly St. John’s Church). Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
