Arlene P. Dooner (Kennedy), 80, of Canton, formerly of Norwood, Plymouth and Roslindale, passed away November 22.

Born in Peabody, she was raised in Roxbury and attended St. Patrick’s in Roxbury and graduated from Concord High School in New Hampshire. She worked as a waitress for the Lunch Box in Roslindale and the Colonial in Plymouth. She later worked for the Norwood School Department as a lunch monitor before retiring. Arlene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, crocheting, playing bingo, and she attended the 4 p.m. Mass every week at St. John’s in Canton. The family would like to thank the staff at NewBridge on the Charles, especially her personal care attendant, Judy, for the compassionate care given to Arlene.

Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Mother of James Pezzone and his wife, Robin, of Dedham, Michelle Kelley of Norwood, Christina Pezzone of West Roxbury, John Pezzone and his wife, Marie, of Canton, Stephen Pezzone of West Roxbury, David Pezzone and his wife, Lisa, of Windham, ME, and the late Michael Pezzone. Sister of Richard Kennedy of FL and the late Michael Kennedy, Kathryn Travis and Jean Marie Kennedy. Grandmother of Melanie, Nicole, Jessica, Ashley, Kristin, Jeffrey, Matthew, Ryan, Stephanie and Breana. Great-grandmother of David, Destiny, Cheyenne, Gavin, John, Jaina and Jacen.

A funeral Mass was held Saturday in St. Oscar Romero Church (formerly St. John the Evangelist) in Canton. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. Donations may be made in Arlene’s memory to the American Cancer Society at donate3cancer.org.
