Dalton, Philip M.

Philip M. Dalton, 79, of Stoughton, formerly of Canton, passed away November 16 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and attended St. Mark’s School in Dorchester and Boston University and was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He worked in maintenance for a newspaper company and previously worked for Bird & Son in Walpole and Tileston & Hollingsworth in Hyde Park. He has lived in Stoughton for the last 12 years and previously lived in Canton for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 and the Stoughton VFW.

Beloved husband of the late Charlene (Carter). Father of Heather Cahill and her husband, David, of Canton. Grandfather of Tristan K. Cahill and Caitlyn C. Cahill. Brother of John W. Dalton Jr. of PA and Paul F. Dalton of FL, and longtime best friend of Robert “Murph” Murphy of NH.
