Fall playoff action kicked off this week and Bulldog fans have plenty of rooting interest with four teams qualifying for the Division 2 postseason tournament.

This fall marks the first season under the MIAA’s new playoff format, which did away with sectional tournaments in favor of larger divisional brackets with 32 or more teams. Teams are seeded based on a power rankings formula that accounts for overall record and strength of schedule. Last year, the MIAA did not host fall tournaments due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Below are the latest postseason results for CHS teams:

Girls Volleyball (14-6): Seeded #9 out of 39 D2 qualifiers; defeated #24 Westfield 3-2 on 11/4; will travel to play #8 Dartmouth in the round of 16 on 11/9 at 6:30 p.m.

Field Hockey (15-3): Seeded #10 out of 32 D2 qualifiers; defeated #23 Leominster 2-0 on 11/4; will travel to play #7 Reading in the round of 16 on 11/8 at 5 p.m.

Boys Soccer (10-4-4): Seeded #21 out of 39 D2 qualifiers; will travel to play #12 Woburn on 11/6 at 5 p.m. in the round of 32; winner advances to play either #5 Agawam or #28 Ashland on 11/10.

Girls Soccer (6-6-5): Seeded #22 out of 38 D2 qualifiers; lost to #11 Mansfield 3-0 on 11/4; eliminated from tournament in the round of 32.
