Finalists announced for Canton High School principal

By

Canton School Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Fischer-Mueller announced the names of three finalists for the CHS principal position in a letter to families and staff sent earlier this week.

The finalists are Russell Booth, assistant principal at North Attleboro High School; Marta Cabral, house principal at Malden High School; and Jeffrey Sperling, assistant principal at Medfield High School. Two of the candidates, Booth and Sperling, were also finalists for the top job at Oliver Ames High School, which went to Canton High Assistant Principal Kelly Cavanaugh.

Virtual forums with all three finalists were scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and in-person visits will take place Wednesday through Friday, May 26-28. The new principal will start on July 1.

More information will be shared at the School Committee meeting scheduled for tonight, May 27, at 7 p.m. Also on the agenda are the appointment of Cindy Bonner as Luce School nurse; school improvement plans for the Rodman PreK and the elementary schools; review of the face covering policy; and disbursements from the Cabot Fund.
