Helena C. Lauro (Giardino), 97, of Canton, passed away December 1 at Orchard Cove Community in Canton.

Born and raised in Dorchester, she attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Boston Clerical School and Northeastern University. She worked as an accountant for Rustcraft Greeting Card Company for many years before retiring. She has lived in Canton for over 60 years where she was a member and past president of the Canton Catholic Women’s Club, member and past president of the Community Club of Canton, a longtime active member of the Federation of Women’s Club of Mass, a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Lodge, and the Daughters of Isabella.

Beloved wife of the late S. Arthur Lauro. Mother of Philip A. Lauro of ME. Sister of the late Josephine Sylvester, Jenny Lenares, Dominic Giardino, Mary Ferrante and James Giardino. She is survived by a granddaughter, Christine, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, December 7, at 1:15 p.m. Donations may be made in her memory to Orchard Cove Staff Appreciation Fund, 1 Del Pond Dr., Canton, MA 02021.
