Randolph-Washington St. light faces delays

By

The Canton DPW continues to await the delivery of parts for the new traffic light at the redesigned Randolph-Washington Street intersection, and according to DPW Superintendent Mike Trotta, delivery is now anticipated toward the end of October due to manufacturing delays. Once the parts arrive, it will take roughly a week to 10 days before the light is operational. On Neponset Street, line drawing and final paving remains for the new intersection and bridge project; however, Trotta said he does not know when the parts for the traffic light will arrive in Canton.

Traffic limited as fall DPW projects underway

Traffic is limited on Elm and Pecunit streets as DPW crews begin work on a water main replacement project and complete a paving project. DPW Superintendent Mike Trotta said traffic is limited to residential traffic, school buses, and visitors to Pakeen Farm. The water main project will run through Thanksgiving and begin again in the spring on Greenlodge Street. Also, the final laying of paving on Revere Street is scheduled for October 8 and 9.
