The Canton Alliance Against Substance Abuse (CAASA) held its fourth annual Celebration of Life on Monday, August 31, on the front lawn of the Armando Recreation Center. Coinciding with International Overdose Awareness Day, the socially distanced event remembered those who have been lost to drug overdose while also offering support to those who are currently struggling with the disease of addiction. The event featured remarks by author Maureen Cavanagh, selected readings, a musical performance by vocalist Lisa Yves, and a candle-lighting ceremony and reading of names in memory of loved ones lost.
