Barbara A. Ahern (Collins), 82, of Medway, formerly of Canton and Milton, passed away March 5.

Born and raised in Milton, she graduated from Milton High School, Class of 1955 and Mt. Auburn School of Nursing in 1958. She made a career of nursing, working at Mt. Auburn Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Hospital, and Mass General Hospital where she was a floor supervisor in the Baker Building. Barbara also served as a nurse in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. She spent the last 13 years of her career working for the Red Cross organizing blood drives. Barbara’s family and career kept her very busy, but she also loved cruising and taking vacations to Canada. She was a proud grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Mother of Joseph W. Ahern and his wife, Bethany, of Medway and Kellie L. Caffey and her husband, Terry, of Seattle. Devoted grandmother of Liam and Kayleigh Ahern and Megan Caffey and Kelsey Mackie and her husband, Alistair. Sister of Donald W. Collins of Nova Scotia and the late Francis L. Collins.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
