Rose F. Cirignano, “Aunt to All,” 97, formerly of Bernardsville, NJ, passed away December 14 at home in Canton, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born and raised in Bernardsville and graduated from Bernards High in 1940. She worked as an accountant for Ciba-Geigy Corporation for many years before retiring in 1987. Rosie was renowned for her meatballs. She shared her love with her family and many wonderful friends through faith, laughter, and food.

Rose was the beloved daughter of Lorenzo and Mary Cirignano. Loving big sister to the late Nicholas L. Cirignano. Aunt to Larry, Tom, Nick, Julia, Edward, Peter, Margie, Marybeth, 18 great nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 21, at 10 a.m. in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Saturday prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Bernardsville, NJ, on Monday, December 23. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a place very special to Rosie — The Julia Ruth House, 199 Canton St., Westwood, MA 02090.
