William C. “Teddy” Theodore, 88, of Canton, passed away November 5 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton.

Born and raised in Dedham, he attended Dedham Public Schools and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Canton with his wife, Kitty, in 1957 and started his own businesses, the Andrew Square Spa and Gold Shield Canteen in South Boston and the Ideal Ice Cream Parlor in Lakeville. He attended Wentworth Institute for Engineering and went on to work with the MBTA Engineering Department for many years, retiring in 1990.

Beloved husband of the late Catherine C. “Kitty” (Carteris). Loving father of James and his wife, Mary, of Walpole and Thomas and his wife, Barbara, of Canton. Cherished grandfather of Nicole, Kristen, Ali, Mimi and Will Theodore. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

At Teddy’s request a private family service was held.
