Police nab robbery suspect who used threat of AIDS

A Stoughton man was apprehended and remains in custody following an alleged armed robbery of the CVS Pharmacy at the Village Shoppes last week.

Police Chief Ken Berkowitz said on Tuesday, October 22, at 12:55 p.m., the Police Department received two separate 911 calls reporting an emergency at CVS. When the first officer arrived, the store clerk stated that a male suspect had demanded money while claiming he had a syringe filled with AIDS-infected blood.

Another Canton officer spotted a male matching the description of the suspect in an adjacent parking lot. The suspect refused the officer’s commands and took off on foot. The officer pursued the suspect to a nearby Mobil station where he refused to stop and resisted arrest. The officer then used his Taser to subdue the suspect and was able to place him under arrest.

Police charged Ralph Milford, 24, with armed robbery, resisting arrest, three counts of larceny of drugs, two counts of possession of a Class B substance, and one count of possession of a Class C substance. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant from another agency.

Bail for Milford was revoked as he is being held on charges from other alleged crimes in Boston.
