The Canton Historical Society celebrated the completion of the first phase of preservation work at the David & Abigail Tilden House at Pequitside Farm with an open house on Sunday, October 13.

Guests enjoyed tours of the circa 1725 home as well as an exhibit of artifacts discovered during the preservation process and a variety of refreshments and activities. Special guests included fiddler Ilana Katz Katz, Paul Revere reenactor Michael LePage, and the preservation team of carpenters, historians and architects.

The Tilden House, known locally as the Little Red House, is being preserved as a study house and program space for the Historical Society. Funding for the project has come from a variety of sources, including grants from the Community Preservation Act and Mass. Historical Commission and a state budget earmark secured by Rep. Bill Galvin and Sen. Walter Timilty. For more information, go to tildenhouse.org.
