Spierdowis, John R.
By Canton CitizenJohn R. “Jack” Spierdowis, 68, retired CPD, of Canton, passed away July 15 at Norwood Hospital.
Born in Norwood, he was a lifelong resident of Canton. He attended St. John’s School and Canton High School and graduated from the State Police Academy in Wakefield. He went on to serve on the Canton Police Department for over 25 years before retiring. Jack was also a bonded and certified locksmith and gunsmith and ran J.R. Spierdowis Locksmith in Canton for many years.
Beloved longtime partner of Linda M. Gately of Norwood. Brother of Helyn Spierdowis of Canton and the late Jean Ann Spierdowis.
A funeral mass was held Friday in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton EMT Association, 99 Revere St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
