Canton Cubs seek host families for 19-20 season

By

The Canton Cubs are seeking host families for the 2019-2020 season. The Cubs are a junior hockey team that play in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL). Each season, the club recruits inspiring and talented hockey players from 16 to 20 years of age from all over North America and the world. The Cubs play their home games at the Canton SportsPlex.

Families interested in providing housing to young, aspiring hockey players will form lifetime relationships with them and their families. “Host families play a critical part in the development of young hockey players from all over the world, and the players teach host families about their cultures and experience,” said Marybeth Hogan, the club’s vice president and head of game day operations. “This year, we will have a player from as far away as Finland, Maine and western America. These young men become part of your family and we have seen many host families travel with the team to see them play.”

“Host families provide a home away from home for the players as they seek to achieve their goals of playing college hockey,” Hogan added. “A host family’s willingness to share their home and family is all it takes to make a big difference for a young hockey player.”

Host families also receive a monthly allowance that they set for each player they welcome into their home.
