The Wakefield Estate, located at 1465 Brush Hill Road in Milton, will kick off its 2019 Summer Garden Music series on Wednesday, July 17, at 6:30 p.m. with a performance by accomplished singer/songwriter and Canton native Abby Vail.

A 2012 graduate of Canton High School, Vail has been writing music for over 10 years. She has opened for such acts as Eddie Money, The Little River Band, Flydown and more. She has performed at venues throughout New England and as far as Nashville and Ireland. Vail also hosts open mic nights at Bramhall’s Country Store in Plymouth — part of a charity initiative she started in 2018 that helps pay for music lessons for children who could not otherwise afford them.

About Vail’s music, one reviewer stated, “Using romantic and picturesque imagery, listening to Abigail can stir the imagination and touch the heart … a much needed combination for any songwriter musing on the human condition.”

The Summer Garden Music series at the Wakefield Estate offers visitors an opportunity to stroll the gardens, enjoy light refreshments, and hear great music in a casual format. Tickets are $10, and RSVPs are appreciated by calling 617-333-0924. This event is subject to cancellation due to weather. Save the date for the next performance in the series on Wednesday, August 21, featuring area musician Eric Martin. For event listings and more information about the estate, visit wakefieldtrust.org.
