Project SMILE takes 1st at FPS Internationals

By

Project SMILE, a Community Problem Solving team consisting of students from Canton High School, took home first place in the CmPS Senior Division at the Future Problem Solvers International Competition held earlier this month at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Canton teens competed with students from all over the world who worked on a community service project that pertained to their community. The mission of Problem SMILE, which stands for “Stress Management in Learning Environments,” was to promote healthy ways to cope with stress while also educating the community about the dangers of it. The team was coached by Vijay Addanki and included the following members: Anvitha Addanki, Sylvia Chin, Ciara O’Connor, Sarah Hernandez, Jenny Mazzola, Sinead Qiu, Harshitha Valluri, and Sydney Weng.
