The Metro South Chamber of Commerce recognized Canton-based Immerse Agency as its 2019 “Small Business of the Year” at the chamber’s annual awards ceremony held last week at Brockton’s Fuller Craft Museum.

Immerse Agency, located on Turnpike Street, is a full-service marketing firm that has been a leading innovator in marketing for businesses of all shapes and sizes across the country and is led by company president Scott Selenow.

“It is extremely humbling that Immerse Agency is being honored as the 2019 Small Business of the Year from the Metro South Chamber of Commerce,” said Selenow, who was recently recognized by Boston Business Journal in their ‘40 Under 40’ segment for innovative leaders in the greater Boston area. “This region is evolving into a cornerstone in Massachusetts’ small business landscape, and we are grateful to have been selected by our peers as a pivotal player in this community’s growth.”

Selenow and the agency have represented some of the most valuable treasures on earth: having toured the oldest known image of Jesus on the planet, the only authenticated pirate treasure ever discovered, relics preserved from Cleopatra’s Royal Palace, real mummies from Ancient Egypt, items from the sinking of the Titanic, and the catastrophes of Pompeii. The agency’s experience across the continent has allowed them to take best practices from some of North America’s most popular events and venues and apply them to small- and medium-sized businesses throughout the state to make their footprint in the local economy.

“Immerse Agency is an exciting enterprise generating success for its many clients,” said Metro South Chamber President and CEO Christopher Cooney. “From its headquarters in Canton, Immerse Agency’s talented staff generate millions of dollars in sales, promote numerous products, and contribute many hours to local nonprofits from throughout the region. It’s a pleasure to recognize and celebrate their success with the 2019 Small Business of the Year Award.”

Immerse Agency went through a two-step nomination process to receive this honor. To qualify, businesses in the region have to have 50 or fewer full-time equivalent employees, have been in business for more than three consecutive years under the current ownership, and be a for-profit enterprise.

“The honor received today highlights the great efforts of my entire team that works day-in, day-out on some exciting and unique projects,” Selenow said. “We are eager at the prospect of building on our position within the Metro South region and beyond, sharing some of these learnings to help businesses grow here in our backyard. It should be a fun year ahead!”

Immerse Agency is a part of one of the fastest growing regions in the state of Massachusetts, the Metro South, which is the headquarters for over 30,000 businesses in the communities of Abington, Avon, Bridgewater, Brockton, Canton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Holbrook, Norwell, Randolph, Sharon, Stoughton, West Bridgewater, and Whitman.
