Reg. deadline for pool override vote is May 8

Town Clerk Tracy Kenney has announced that the deadline to register to vote for the May 28, 2019 Special Town Election will be Wednesday, May 8, 2019.

The town clerk’s office will remain open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 8. You may also register to vote online through the secretary of the commonwealth’s website at www.sec.state.ma.us/ovr or you may request to have a voter registration form mailed to you by calling the clerk’s office at 781-821-5013. Upon receipt, the form must be completed and returned to the clerk’s office by 8 p.m. on May 8 or mailed with a postmark no later than May 8.

If you are registered to vote at your current address there is no need to re-register.

The polls will remain open on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following question will appear on the ballot:

Shall the Town of Canton be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so called, the amount required to pay for the bond issued in order to pay for the designing, permitting, environmental clean-up, reconstructing, constructing, repairing and equipping of the Bolivar Pool Aquatic Center located at 199 Bolivar Street in the Town of Canton?

The polling locations for the May 28 Special Town Election are as follows:

Precincts 1 & 6: Canton High School, 960 Washington St.

Precinct 2: Dean S. Luce Elementary School, 45 Independence St.

Precinct 3: Blue Hills Regional School, 800 Randolph St.

Precincts 4 & 5: John F. Kennedy School, 100 Dedham St.
