By Canton CitizenMary E. Oslin (Carten), 93, of Attleboro, formerly of Canton, Randolph and Dorchester, passed away at home November 28 surrounded by her loving family.
Born and raised in Dorchester, she graduated from Dorchester High School for Girls, Emmanuel College and received her master’s in social work from Boston College. She was a longtime member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Brockton and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul. Mary loved to swim and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and her family was paramount in her life.
Beloved wife of the late Philip B. Mother of Philip Oslin and his wife, Martha, of Littleton, Mary Levine of Attleboro, Jean Berry of Canton, John Oslin and his wife, Elaine Ducharme, of RI, James Oslin and his wife, Lei Chen, of Milton, Paul Oslin and his wife, Marcela, of Canton, Marjorie Welsh of PA, Anne Heinze and her husband, Timothy, of CA, and the late Joseph Oslin. Beloved daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Carten. Sister of John Carten of Norwood and the late Andrew and Thomas Carten. Grandmother of Jane, Philip, Michael, Sr. Kelly Francis CFR, David, Suzanne, Michelle, Jeannette, Danielle, Rebecca, Laura, Julie, Sara, Melissa, Lilly, Jonathan, Sophia, Christina, Richard, Joseph and Lydia. Also survived by 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and her longtime dearest friend Mary Shannon of Canton.
A funeral service was held Monday in the Immanuel Baptist Church in Brockton. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery.
