Charles S.A. Crespi, a lifelong resident of Canton, died November 19, 2018, after a battle with kidney cancer.

Charles was a graduate of the Canton High School Class of 1954. In 1956 he was a graduate of the Building and Construction School at Wentworth Institute of Technology and later earned degrees in engineering from Wentworth and Fitchburg State College.

Charles worked for Raytheon Company for 42 years as a project engineer on defense systems, which took him to Saudi Arabia on two separate missions. He was the past president of the Canton Men’s Italian Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Lion’s Club, as well as an active member of St. John’s Parish community as an Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister and usher. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening as well as collecting old postcards of Canton.

Charles was the devoted husband of Frances L. Crespi (Eckert) of Canton. Loving father of Charles C. Crespi and his wife, Jennifer, of Nevada and Julie E. Crespi of California. Brother to the late Francesca Nashawaty. Proud grandfather of Tyler D. Crespi, Korey L. Mahone-Crespi, and Isabella R. Crespi. He leaves his sister-in-law Peggy and husband, Ray Dugas, and Carol Ralph of California along with many nieces and nephews: Carolyn Weidemann of Sandwich, Albert Nashawaty of Bridgewater, Andrea Fransson of Sweden, Frank Eckert, Deborah Kennedy, Michelle Rayner, Adam Dugas, Matthew Dugas and Rachel Dugas of California, and Jack Eckert of Andover. Charlie’s deceased mother, Rosa C. Crespi (Crevola), and father, Carlo C. Crespi, are immigrants from northern Italy.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday in St. John the Evangelist Parish in Canton. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Donations in memory of Charles can be sent to the Dana-Farber Cancer Center in Boston. Arrangements by the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, www.roache-pushard.com.
