Pauline J. Hopfgarten (Welter) of Canton passed away October 14 at Orchard Cove in Canton surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Jamaica Plain, she attended Boston schools and has lived in Canton since 1958. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed rollerskating and tap dancing.

Mother of Rudy Hopfgarten of Easton, Paul Hopfgarten of Kingston, Ann-Marie Currier and her husband, Richard, of Halifax, and Barbara F. Cavanagh and her husband, Jay, of Canton. Sister of Ann Gravel of Ipswich. Pauline is also survived by her longtime companion, George Fredette, of Attleboro and her five grandchildren: Jonathan Hopfgarten, Cori-Rose Hopfgarten, Amanda Libby, James Cavanagh, and Cameron Currier.

A funeral service was held Tuesday in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Burial Forest Hills Cemetery.
