Gerard Ivar Anderson, 90, of Mansfield, formerly of Canton, passed away September 5 at the Wingate at Norton.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Dedham and was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army 224th Infantry Regiment 40th Division. He had lived in Canton for over 50 years where he raised his family before moving to Mansfield 12 years ago. He worked as a union inspector for M & G Convoy in Framingham for many years before retiring.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret E. “Ducky” (Irving). Father of Marion Pulcini and her husband, Ralph, of Easton, David G. Anderson and his wife, Karen, of Sharon, and Lisa M. Stier and her husband, Larry, of Mansfield. Brother of Richard Gustavson of Dedham and the late Herbert Anderson. Also survived by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veterans Services Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
