Robert F. Sefton, 84, passed away July 18 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Boston, he was raised in Dedham and was a resident of Canton for 62 years. He attended Saint Sebastian’s School in Needham, Boston College, Chestnut Hill, and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

seftonBob was the director of materials/manufacturing for Data General and later in his career Computer Vision. While at Computer Vision, he had the opportunity to work in Frankfurt, Germany, where he was in charge of Computer Vision’s manufacturing facilities for several years, traveling home on weekends or to many European destinations with his family and friends. After retiring from Computer Vision, he worked for T & K Asphalt Services in order to remain active. He loved traveling, spending time with his family and friends, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting and extracurricular events. At home, he loved to entertain family and friends by serenading and playing the piano.

Loving husband of Jacqueline A. (Duff). Beloved father of Shawn Sefton and her husband, Rafael Ortega, of Boston, Mark Sefton and his wife, Bonny, of Sudbury, Julie Sefton-Drew and her husband, Albert Drew, of Waltham, and Dara Shea and her husband, James, of Walpole. Cherished grandfather of Andrew Ortega and his wife, Ashley, of Chicago, IL, Matthew Drew and his wife, Shannon, of Carpinteria, CA, Rafael Ortega of Iwakuni, Japan, Alexander Ortega of Boston, Jacqueline Drew-Bush and her husband, Justin Bush, of Hanford, CA, Abigail Rand of Norwood, Eliza Sefton of Salem, Victoria Ortega of New York City, Shane Sefton of Sudbury, Mackenzie Rand of Walpole, Troy Rand of Walpole, and great-grandfather of Easton Drew.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Friday, July 27, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton on Saturday, July 28, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
