In one of the most memorable, feel-good sports endings that one could possibly dream up, Canton native Drew Blake capped off his final home game as a member of the Fairfield University baseball team with a two-run, game-tying homerun over the right-field fence that was caught on the fly by his father, Kevin, who was all alone in the parking lot watching the game.

The special moment was captured on video and made national headlines and was, according to the Stags first baseman, the “coolest moment in [his] sports career.”

A graduate of Milton Academy, Blake played in a career-high 48 games this season and led all Fairfield hitters with eight homeruns and 37 RBIs.
