On Friday, April 27, the Canton Garden Club held its annual tree planting ceremony in honor of National Arbor Day. This year, club members chose the Canton Police Station, where they planted a “Heart Throb” Pink Kousa Dogwood tree. Speaking at the ceremony, Garden Club member Carol Munson noted how trees are often taken for granted yet are essential to Canton’s quality of life. “That is why,” she said, “each year, we stop and take time to dedicate a special tree at a special location in our community, and it is repeated in other communities throughout our state and the entire country. We take our time to find a location where the tree will enjoy a successful lifetime home, for all of our residents to enjoy.”
