John J. “Jack” Hill, Jr., 58, of Foxboro, formerly of Canton and Randolph, passed away January 14 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Born in Dorchester, he was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1978, and Blue Hills Regional Technical School with a certificate in diesel mechanics. He worked as a safety coach for Verizon for the last 33 years. He was an active member of the town of Randolph, where he was a 3rd degree member and treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Council #129, a consultant for the Randolph Zoning Board, former DPW commissioner, and a town meeting member. He enjoyed flying and aspired to get his private pilot’s license, enjoyed camping at the Saco River, playing with his grandchildren, volunteering at the Bay State Games, and carpentry …
