A gift from Dr. Levrault

By

Dear Editor:

My wife and I were longtime patients of Dr. Richard Levrault at the Family Medical Associates office in Seekonk — my wife for 20-plus years and myself for 15-plus years. My wife is not a big fan of doctors and/or dentists, but she always looked forward to her appointments with Dr. Levrault because he always had a smile and a kind word, and if there was any kind of a problem he always seemed to make it easier.

I enjoyed my visits because we would always talk about the Boston Red Sox, Pawtucket Red Sox, and the Patriots. I would, from time to time, bring him things that had to do with the Pawtucket Red Sox. On what turned out, unbeknownst to me, to be my next-to-last appointment with him, he walked into the exam room with a bag and gave me a pin and t-shirt from the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. I believe he had been there a week or two before my visit to watch one of his grandsons play a baseball game.

Now every time I go to the office for an appointment I wear that t-shirt. He truly was a great man and will be missed, and remembered, by many people.
