Cavanaugh, Ernest J.

Ernest J. “Ernie” Cavanagh, 92, of Bridgewater, formerly of Canton, passed away December 23 surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Prince Edward Island, Canada, he has lived in Bridgewater for the last 25 years and previously lived in Canton. He was the owner and operator of Ernie’s Auto Repair, which was in Dorchester for many years before moving to Canton in 1985. Ernie was an avid card player, golfer, and Bruins fan and in his spare time he enjoyed restoring antique cars. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, a devout Catholic and a faithful communicant of St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton …
