Powell, Norman F.
By Canton CitizenNorman F. Powell, 95, formerly of Canton and South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully August 10 at the Charlwell House in Norwood.
Born in Boston, he was raised in Roslindale and graduated from Hyde Park High. He was a proud veteran, serving in the 8th Army Air Force, 388th Bombardment Group during World War II, flying 35 missions from England in 1944. He worked as a mechanical engineer for W. R. Grace Co. in Woburn and retired in 1982. He enjoyed playing the harmonica and was an avid tennis player and golfer …
