Hegarty, Joseph R.

Joseph R. Hegarty, 96, of Canton, passed away April 5 at South Shore Hospital.

Born in Cambridge, he graduated from English High, Lawrence Academy in Groton, and Boston College, where he played on the football team. Joe was a superb athlete who played minor league baseball and was an avid tennis player and a member of the Weymouth Club. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and later worked as a clothing salesman for many years before retiring …
