John S. “Jay” Minahan, formerly of Canton, of Naples, FL, passed away August 29.

Jay was born in Brookline, raised in Needham, and graduated from Catholic Memorial High School, Merrimack College, and served in the Army Reserves. He worked for Ford Motor Company for many years, retiring as district manager for the Heavy Truck Division.

He loved his family and friends and was an avid boater out of Kingman Marine in Pocasset for many years before moving to Naples, FL, in 1999. Beloved husband of the late Diane L. (Canaris). Brother-in-law of M. Claire Canaris and her husband, Jonathan Fleishman, of Bonita Springs, FL. He is also survived by his beloved poodle Armani and a host of friends.

Relatives and friends invited to attend a funeral service at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Monday, September 8, at 10 a.m. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
