Truck stolen from Canton used in bank robbery

By

The Canton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating two canoes that went missing off of a truck that was stolen in Canton earlier this week.

The green Ford pickup truck was used as a getaway vehicle following an armed robbery at a Bank of America branch in Attleboro on Monday, May 12. During the robbery, two male suspects entered the bank, displayed handguns, and fled in the truck with an undisclosed amount of money. A short time later, the truck was found abandoned behind a business located near the Norton/Attleboro town line.

During the investigation, police learned that two 14-foot canoes (one believed to be a green Coleman) had been on the truck’s racks at the time it was stolen; however, they were no longer on the truck at the time of the robbery. Police are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of the canoes or has located or otherwise seen them to contact the Canton Police Department at 781-821-5090.

The robbery and auto theft remain under investigation by the FBI, the Canton Police Department, and the Attleboro Police Department.
