By

Alfred G. Theirrien, Sr., 77, of Falmouth, formerly of Canton, passed away at home on Thursday, February 20. He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years, Jean (Nugent) Theirrien.

After serving during the Korean War for the U.S. Navy, Al worked for 27 years at Plymouth Rubber Co. in Canton. He worked at Reebok in Stoughton for 27 years as well. Al was a great family man and loved spending time with his family. He loved his garden, flowers, the Patriots, and loved to decorate his home for all holidays. Al was an avid backyard bird watcher.

Besides his wife, Al is survived by his children: Cheryl Chace of Canton, Alfred “Sonny” Theirrien, Jr. and his wife, Allison, of Burlington, Debi Marathas and her husband, Nick, of Canton, and John Theirrien and his wife, Sue, of Sandwich; and his eight grandchildren: Kristin, Erica, Demi, Jake, Meaghan, Jamie, Abi, and Amelia. He is also survived by his sister Rose and brother Tommy.

Al’s wishes were that his service and burial be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute-Memorial Contributions, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. Arrangements by the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home in Falmouth. For online guestbook, obituary and directions, please visit www.ccgfuneralhome.com.
