Girl Scouts grateful for bike donations

By

Girl Scout Olivia Maloney with Roll it Forward Community Programs Coordinator Jenny Duquette

Dear Editor:

Last weekend on that frigid Sunday, Canton Girl Scouts held a used bike drive to support the Roll it Forward program of BostonBikes. Remarkably, they filled the truck that came to pick up the bikes with 51 bikes of all sizes. The Roll it Forward program will repair the bikes and give them back to communities with people in need. They have a goal of giving back 1,000 bikes by the end of this year. With only a dozen or so bikes to go to meet their goal, Canton’s contribution of 51 will help them exceed this by a good margin. For more information on the Roll it Forward program, go to www.bostonbikes.org/programs/roll-it-forward. The Girl Scouts would like to thank the Canton community for coming out with their bike donations despite the temperatures. It made braving the cold very worthwhile.

Sincerely,

Canton Girl Scouts
