Hats off to CPD for making school safety a priority

By

Dear Mr. Joe DeFelice:

This letter is in response to your November column about Canton Police Chief Ken Berkowitz assigning school resource officers to both the high school and middle school (two officers). Chief Berkowitz should be highly commended for his commitment to the safety of the children of Canton. In a time of diminishing resources, it is refreshing to see that the Police Department and town are making children a priority. The presence of school resource officers such as Detective Chip Yeaton deters unsafe situations for the students and promotes a positive educational experience. Again, hats off to the Canton Police Department. Thanks and have a happy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Mark J. Prisco, Chief Probation Officer

Norfolk County Juvenile Court
