A 65-year-old Canton woman was killed and two men were seriously injured in a two-car, head-on collision at the intersection of Walpole Street and Everendon Road on Sunday, September 15, just before 6 p.m.

Police said Mary Morningstar was brought to Norwood Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. Two men in the other vehicle were brought to Boston hospitals. One was transported by MedFlight from Canton High School to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and another was brought to Boston Medical Center by a Sharon ambulance.

Fire Chief Charlie Doody said the two men had serious and critical injuries. “It was a very difficult accident scene due to the nature of the injuries,” he said. “Bystanders, police and firefighters and paramedics all arrived at the same time.”

Deputy Police Chief Helena Findlen said the investigation continues into the accident. Steven R. Walsh, 19, of Walpole, the operator of the other vehicle, faces charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation and marked lane violation.
