Annual Rodman Ride for Kids set for Sept. 28

By

The 23rd annual Rodman Ride for Kids will be held on Saturday, September 28, starting at 10 Lincoln Road off Route 1 in Foxboro.

Founded by Canton resident and noted philanthropist Don Rodman, the Rodman Ride for Kids is an umbrella matching gift charity raising funds for youth-focused social service agencies that support at-risk children in Massachusetts. The Ride for Kids and its affiliated charities fundraise year-round, culminating with the Ride event each fall. The mission of the charity is to have “every kid in our community live as we would want our own kids to live.”

The Ride for Kids offers three distance options: a 100-mile course beginning at 7 a.m., a 50-mile course beginning at 9 a.m., and two 25-mile courses beginning at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., followed by a barbecue for all participants.

The expenses associated with the Ride for Kids are less than 3 percent of the total revenue, and they are all underwritten — meaning that 100 percent of every donation directly benefits at-risk kids.
