Town officials not thinking clearly on Plymouth Rubber site

By

Dear Editor:

In recent months the Canton Citizen has reported on the old Plymouth Rubber property on Revere Street and how the current owners wanted to build a housing development on the site.

The School Committee and others said it would put a burden on our schools, DPW, police and fire departments. But the town lets local contractors build single, two-family homes, and condos. And yet the School Committee does not say a thing!

What’s wrong with this picture? Now the owners of the Plymouth Rubber property said they will consider industrial uses on the property.

Picture that burden on our streets! Trailer trucks, more cars, etc. driving through Canton Center — as if it does not take long enough now to get through the center of town.

Sometimes I think the School Committee and others are sitting on their brains.

Sincerely,

Joe Marinaro Jr.
