Desmond, Lucy A.

Lucy A. Desmond (Barra), 85, formerly of Canton, of Florida, passed away July 20 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Roxbury, she graduated from Dorchester High School. She worked as an administrative assistant for Travelers Insurance for 43 years before retiring in 1987.

Beloved wife of the late Edward S. Sister of Guy Barra of Canton and the late Clara Travia, Fred Barra, and Marie Alaimo. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton on Friday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday morning prior to the mass from 9-10 a.m. Burial Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
