Cammarata, Vincent J.
By Canton CitizenVincent J. “Jimmy” Cammarata, 89, of Canton, formerly of the North End, passed away June 1 at Norwood Hospital.
Born and raised in Boston, he attended English High School and Northeastern University. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He previously worked as a clothing manufacturer for Girltown and was the owner of Cameron Sportswear. He was a life member and former treasurer of Madonna Della Cava Society in the North End and a former member of the Pietraperzia Sons of Italy.
Beloved husband of Helen C. (Perez). Father of Damian G. Cammarata and his wife, Joan, of Canton, Connie C. Sparks and her husband, Robert, of Canton, Vincent C. Cammarata and his wife, Linda, of FL, Maria T. Cammarata and her husband, Mark Byrne, of Canton, and Helenann Civian and her husband, Jamey, of Canton. Also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass was held in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton on Wednesday, June 5, followed by burial at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Roslindale. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veterans Service Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
