On Friday, February 15, the Canton Police Department received reliable information that there may be a large marijuana delivery via an unsuspecting transport company coming into Canton.

Plainclothes and uniform personnel from the Canton Police Department, including detectives Glen Piro and Paul Gallagher and officers Sean Goode and Glen Nix, joined by partners from the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office, the Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Stoughton Police Department staked out the premises.

At 2 p.m. the suspect, Thomas Jin Kim, 30, of Brooklyn, New York, pulled into the lot and took possession of the first half of the nearly 300-pound delivery. He was subsequently arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana.

Based on the weight and quality of the product, the street value of the marijuana would yield close to $1 million. The suspect was held on $1 million bail and was arraigned in Stoughton District Court on Tuesday, February 19.
