John J. Madden Jr., 83, of Canton, passed away September 21 at the Ellis Nursing Home in Norwood.

Born in Roxbury, he was raised in Roslindale and attended Sacred Heart School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and worked as a plumber for Local 12 in Boston for many years before retiring. He was a resident of Canton for over 50 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #24.

Loving brother of Nancy Sabey of AL and Richard Madden of FL. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Wednesday morning, September 26, at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton Veterans Service Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
