Daniel C. Callahan, 67, of Canton, passed away September 3 at Beth Israel Hospital.

Born in Chelsea, he was raised in Dorchester and attended St. Patrick’s School and Cathedral High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. He worked in the computer department for the Massachusetts State Lottery for 20 years before retiring in 2004.

Beloved husband of Susan W. (Ward). Father of Joseph D. Callahan of South Boston. Brother of Mary Ritchie and her husband, Kenneth, of Maine, Joan Lorina and her husband, Anthony, of Quincy, and Paul Callahan and his wife, Sandy, of Abington.

Funeral mass in St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton Thursday, September 6, at 10 a.m. Burial private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Jimmy Fund, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02215. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
