Canton Police continue to investigate an attempted robbery at a residence on Pinewood Road that took place early Sunday morning, August 26, at 3:15 a.m. No one was injured, but a three-inch knife was shown to two victims. The victims told police they went outside to smoke a cigarette when a man described as 5’10” with a sturdy build, dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask threatened them with a knife as he demanded money. One of the victims pushed the robber in the chest and he ran away. Bosco, the Canton Police Department’s search dog, was brought to the scene bit did not pick up on the scent. Police Lt. Helena Findlen said the incident is not related to two previous and separate stabbings reported earlier this summer.

Motorcycle violation leads to drug distribution arrest

A motorcyclist who was stopped for taking an illegal turn at the traffic light at Washington and Bolivar streets was arrested last Thursday evening on drug distribution charges. Police Officer Robert Quirk found four ounces of marijuana and arrested the driver, Bryan P. Hutchinson, 23, of Raynham, and charged him with negligent operation of a motor vehicle and distribution of a Class D substance. Police Lt.
