Struggles continue for Canton A’s baseball

By

The Canton A’s, a semi-pro baseball team that competes in the Cranberry League, had mixed results last week as the team beat South Shore 4-2 but fell twice to Middleboro in a Sunday doubleheader by scores of 5-1 and 8-5. The A’s are now 3-8-1 and in eighth place out of nine teams in the league standings.

The highlight of the week was the win over South Shore, with Tyler Hitchcock hurling a complete game for his third win of the season.

Head coach Kee Arguimbau said the offense has been sparked by the hitting of John Garabedian and Brian Williams but needs more help from its veterans.

“I still feel we can go on a hot streak and get back into this,” he said. “We need more timely hitting and some consistent pitching.”

The A’s were due to travel to Easton on Tuesday, host Weymouth tonight at CHS at 6 p.m., and travel to Massasoit in Brocton for a Sunday doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
