Buttner, John F.

Jack was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in Korea with the USMC. He was a former teacher in the Boston and Canton school systems. He loved reading, fishing, boxing and politics, and was a jack of all trades.
Beloved husband of Grace P. (Conway). Devoted father of John W. Buttner and his fiancée, Kathleen Vanderhoop, of Falmouth, Leigh DeLosh and her husband, Mark, of Hyde Park, Pamela Mason and her husband, Richard, of Canton, Teri King and her spouse, Leslie Morrison, of Falmouth, Timothy Buttner of Roslindale, Paul Buttner of Stoughton, and Larry Buttner and his fiancée, Donna Gleeson, of Dedham.
Grandfather of Lauren, John, and Matthew DeLosh; Michael, Jacqueline, and Ashley King; Micaela Buttner; Nicole and Richard Mason; and Robert and Brendan Buttner. Loving brother of William Buttner and the late Joseph Buttner. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at the William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre Street, West Roxbury. Visiting hours Thursday, June 7, from 4-8 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Massachusetts branch of the International Dyslexia Association (MABIDA), PO Box 562, Lincoln, MA 01773.
