Earle B. White Jr., 80, of Canton, passed away March 28 at the Kindred Transitional Care Center in Franklin.

Born and raised in Newton, he graduated from Newton High School. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars for his service to the country. He was the owner of Sam White & Son’s Landscape Supply in Newton, Medfield and Middleboro, where he had worked since 1960. He was previously a member of the American Legion Post #141 in Newton and has lived in Canton since 1955.

Beloved husband of the late Irene C. (Varley). Father of Daniel T. of Norfolk, Cheryl A. Byrne of Foxboro, Debra M. Sulesky of Stoughton, and Donna L. McGill of Franklin. Brother of Catherine Meaney of Westwood, Jean Churchill of Nevada, Jack White of Sagamore, Robert White of Natick, and the late Edith Raymond. Also survived by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass was held Monday morning, April 2, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 72 East Concord St., C3, Boston, MA 02118. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
