Paul J. Davis, 93, of Canton, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away February 26 at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, he previously lived in Hyde Park before moving to Canton 32 years ago. A Navy veteran of WWII, he was a plankowner of the LCS 86 in the first occupation force into Tokyo Bay. Paul worked as a machinist at the former American Can Company in Needham and later at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury. He was a member of the William P. Doyle Post #2831 and Color Guard in Hyde Park. He enjoyed working in his beautiful yard and attending his Navy ship reunions.

Beloved husband for 50 years of the late Cecilia A. (Shephard). Loving father of Diane M. Davis Conroy and her husband, Daniel, of Canton, Karen L. Davis of Boston, and Kevin P. Davis of Marshfield. Devoted grandfather of Daniel Paul Conroy of Canton.

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, on Thursday, March 1, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church in Canton Friday at 10 a.m. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the New England Home for Little Wanderers, 780 American Legion Highway, Roslindale, MA 02131.
