Stanley T. Malcolmson, 96, a longtime resident of Canton, died peacefully on January 1, 2012.

As a boy growing up in Canton, Stanley enjoyed playing football with the “Canton Springdale Mud Hens” and later enjoyed playing football and other sports for Canton High School. He was a proud veteran of World War II, serving in Italy with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He worked for the Neponset Woolen Mills in Canton for over 10 years and for the Sharon Box Company for over 18 years.

Stanley was a loving and dedicated husband and father who spent years caring for his wife and son and will be missed by all his family. Beloved husband of the late Ida M. (Hamacher). Devoted father of John D. Malcolmson of Wrentham. Loving brother of Ralph Malcolmson of Leominster and Martha Reeves of Canton. Brother of the late James Malcolmson, Samuel Malcolmson, Ernest Malcolmson, Herbert Malcolmson, Gordon Malcolmson, and Margaret Hanson. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, January 7, from 10-11 a.m. in the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment with military honors in Knollwood Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stanley’s memory to the Wrentham Developmental Center for the Mentally Challenged, 131 Emerald St., Wrentham, MA 02093, or to the Olivia Foundation c/o Dedham Savings Bank, 55 Elm St., Dedham, MA 02026.
